English Derivative Pictures
Inspired by the derivative tree seen below, the Latin 6 students were asked to create their own "Derivative Pictures". Each student was given a Latin verb and asked to use a dictionary or the internet to find at least 4 derivatives (and their meanings). They were then to incorporate this information into a picture.
They were given the following definition of the word "derivative":
A derivative is an English word that came from Latin. To be a derivative, the English word must have the Latin stem ("look like") and a similar meaning ("mean like").
