The Several Steps to Translating.

 

1. Try to find the basic sentence:

• Subject (in the Nominative Case or hidden in the verb ending if there is no Nominative)

• Verb (in Latin this is usually the last word in the sentence)

• Direct Object (if there is one it will be in the Accusative Case)

2. Once you have the main sentence, try to piece the other words into place.

3. Keep all words in a prepositional phrase together.

4. Whenever you can, work with a translation partner or group.

There is much that you can learn by helping each other!

Working with others, makes putting together the pieces

of the puzzle easier and more fun!
