SHSD Latin

Located a short train ride from Rome, the excavations at Ostia Antica provide visitors the opportunity to walk down ancient Roman roads.  Since much of Rome was re-built over time, a visit to Ostia allows Latin students to experience an ancient Roman city up close and personal.  The expreience is much like that of visiting Pompeii, except there are few (if any) locked gates which prohibit individual exploration.  Ostia Antica is a site where tourists can truly climb and explore.  It is one of Magistra Martin's favorite sites in Italy and a must see for all Latin students.
